Redbud Quilt Run "Challenge Quilts"

Hello Quilters!!    

    Quilt Styles in Glenpool has the 5 top challenge quilts from the Redbud Quilt Run, held last July.  They are truly unique, each one has been made as a one of a kind creation using 4-2&1/2" strips from each of the six shops.  The strips are not always easy to identify!  You will want to see them while they are on display during the month of April.  They are all wonderful!!

    Remember that all Wednesdays are sit-n-sew days, no charge to you!  Please, do allow yourself time to get set up and be able to work on your project.  I'm available to answer questions when not waiting on customers!

    Block of the Month made with Thangles is now month 10 in April.  Most have picked up the finishing kit.  This could be a project to work on on Wednesday!!    

    We have Christa teaching classes.  Many have expressed interest.  She works around your schedule, if you have any questions about classes, call the shop 918 322-3537.  Or call Christa, many flyers have been passed out with her number.  You will receive a 10% discount on fabric for classes and 10% discount on everything on class day!  Be sure to remind me at the register!

Hello Quilters!

I am so excited about the "Women of Courage" Block of the Month. Here is the site that has a picture of it, www.windhamfabrics.com . There is no cost to sign up to do this. There are twelve months at $22.50 per month. There is no other cost. This will begin in May. I have folks signing up now. Take a look and see if you like it! The fabrics are, civil war, type. If you are a beginner, I offer a free sit -n- sew day every Wednesday, where you can get tips and questions answered.

Poker Run and New Block of the Month

Hello Quilters!!    

        I'm so happy with the results on the Poker Run last weekend!  It was a great turnout and we had a good time.  This is my first time to play poker, even though I didn't have a HAND, haha.  The winner of the gift box for Quilt Styles was Connie Wilson, she was surprised, today, to find out she'd won, when she came in for a binding on her project!  Congratulations Connie!            

        Next I'd like to announce the new block of the month I'll be starting soon, May.  It is "Women of Courage" by Windom Fabrics.  It is 98"x98" and has 12 women of courage, with a block for each.  Some months will be two identical blocks and some will have 2 differnt blocks in the same month.  Each month there will be a description of the courageous actions of the women featured included with the pattern and fabric.  This is a twelve month program.  The cost will be $22.50 per month.  Those interested can search for this quilt name to see a picture or come to the shop to see the poster with picture and names of the women.  I wil be working on the sample so you will also be able to see the fabrics.

Poker Run Shops

Hello Quilters!

I just want to let everyone know that the Shop info and driving directions are available at the shop. They are pretty detailed so I don't want to risk getting them wrong by e-mail. We are all so excited about the Poker Run!

I have some new wide backings in for those who wanted something that would work on civil war quilts.

The pattern for the block of the month has been shipped, for those who wanted in on it. I expect it this Thurs or Fri. If anyone wants to get the whole quilt at once, the price would be $20 off the monthly total. Remember this one is called "Love Letters" and is not from the "book" by the same name.

Poker Run Dates and Shops

Hello Quilters,

I've had so many of you who are interested in the shop hop! Please forgive me, I have been corrected that the dates are March 16 & 17, Friday and Saturday. (I should not be e-mailing at such a late hour.) The six shops involved are Little Quilt Shop in Sand Springs, Quilt Styles in Glenpool, Grannie Annies in Beggs, Needles and Threads in Henryetta,

Sew Many Quilts in Checotah, and Longtown Quilt Shoppe in Eufaula. Hours will be 9:30am-5:00pm both days.

All shops will have refreshments, and goodies. You will collect a playing card from each shop visited toward a "hand" of poker. You must collect all 6 cards and turn them in at the last shop visited, making your "hand" from 5 of the cards. The top hand will win $180 in store gift certificates. Lowest hand will win $60 in store gift certificates. The cards will be identifiable from each shop. Winners will be notified by Friday March 23rd and posted on our websites.

Each shop will have it's own specials on merchandise during the run.

I'm proud to have just been invited to be one of the six shops involved in the first annual shop hop called the Poker Run.

This will be March 17 and 18. Special hours for the run will be 9:30am-5pm both days at all shops. Those who want to play will collect a playing card at each shop, all 6. The highest hand will win a collection of gift certificates from all the shops totaling $180. There will also be a lowest hand prize of gift certificates from all shops totaling $60. All collected cards will be turned in at the last shop visited. You will put your cards in an envelope and seal, write your name and phone number on the outside of the envelope. Winners will be notified by Friday, March 23. Winners will be announced on our websites.

Each shop will have refreshments, activities, specials, fun, fun, fun!!!

Quilt Styles will have a drawing for a gift basket, fill out a ticket with your name and phone number at the shop during the Poker Run to enter. There will also be goody bags for everyone. Fabric will be $1.00 off per yard on fabrics over $7 for these 2 days. Wow does Cathy know about this? I'd better eat my Wheaties!

Just as an aside, the new Block of the Month "Love Letters" is temporarily sold out until the pattern can be received again. If you'd like to make this let me know and I'll be sure to get enough!

Hello Quilters!

I've a new block-of-the-month beginning in time for Valentine's Day! It is a six month program with two large blocks per month. It's name "Love Letters", a good one for this time of year! The size is 65"x83". It is light with light brown and red accents. The sample is back from quilting, it has a warm flannel backing. There is no need to bring in the finished blocks each month, and no set time to pick up blocks. Help with blocks is available any time, at no charge. Cost is $30 per month, including all fabrics for the top, binding, and pattern. This will fill up quickly!

I have a new class by Christa, she is available when you can be here. This class needs 3 to make. Quilt name is "What Was I Thinking". This is from the book "French Braid Obsession". Class will be 2 four hour sessions. Book is required and class fee is $35. Call to coordinate the time. 918 322-3537
